Asbestimport und Asbestverbrauch pro Jahr<\/span><\/h2>\n

Grafik verdeutlicht den Asbestverbrauch in der Bundesrepublik und der DDR in dem Zeitraum von 1948 bis 1993. Man erkennt, das besonders in den 70er-Jahren, abnehmend bis weit in die 80er Jahre der Asbestverbrauch in Deutschland, trotz einsetzender Verbote und wissentlichem Gef\u00e4hrdungspotenzial, immer noch verh\u00e4ltnism\u00e4\u00dfig hoch war.<\/span><\/p>\n

Infolge der Beschr\u00e4nkungen (siehe Chronologie unten) sank der Asbestverbrauch im Jahr 1991 in Deutschland deutlich unter 2.000 t. Heute wird Asbest in Europa nur noch in einigen Ausnahmef\u00e4llen eingesetzt: z.B. bei der Chloralkalielektrolyse. Die weltweit gef\u00f6rderte Menge an Asbest liegt aktuell zwischen zwei und drei Millionen Tonnen pro Jahr.<\/p>\n

Verteilung der Asbestanwendung auf Erzeugnisgruppen :<\/span><\/h2>\n

Die erste Grafik zeigt einen starken Anstieg des Asbestverbrauchs in der alten BRD von 1948 bis auf 170.000 Tonnen im Jahr 1965. Nach 1965 stagnierte der Asbest-verbrauch auf einem hohen Niveau von rund 160.000 Tonnen\/Jahr. Seit 1980 f\u00fchrten die verst\u00e4rkt einsetzenden Substitutionsbem\u00fchungen zu einem steilen Absinken der Verbrauchskurve, sodass der Asbestverbrauch z. B. im Jahre 1989, dem Jahr der Wiedervereinigung Deutschlands, etwa 50.000 Tonnen betrug (HVBG, 2003; DGUV, 2013). Seit dem Verbot von Spritzasbest im Jahr 1979 wurden verschiedenste As-best-Regulierungen umgesetzt, die 1993 nach Ma\u00dfgabe der Gefahrstoffverordnung
zum generellen Verbot der Herstellung, Verwendung und des Inverkehrbringens von Asbest f\u00fchrten, sodass der Asbestverbrauch in Deutschland praktisch auf Null zu-r\u00fcckgegangen ist (HAGEMEYER et al., 2006). Die zweite Grafik zeigt die Produkte so-wie Produktgruppen\/-kategorien, bei denen die Asbestimporte im Herstellungspro-zess in der alten Bundesrepublik in den 1970er-Jahren zum Einsatz kamen.
